October 2013

  • Mood:
  • Random: October is one of my favorite months of the year because of all the fall fests and of course, the cooler weather!
In October the weather started to cool and we enjoyed several fall festivities - as well as some festivities that didn't really have anything to do with autumn. The first weekend in October, my parents and Ryan and I went to the Avocado Fest in Carpinteria. That's always fun. We followed up the fest with a trip to the beach. The next day, Ryan and I went with JoAnna and one of her dogs, Bo, to Bark at the Park in Lancaster. There were all sorts of dog-related events, vendors, and activities for kids and pups of all ages. Below are photos from the weekend:

The following weekend, Larry and I took Ryan to the Stu Miller pumpkin patch at 10th West and Ave. L. Ryan had a great time and we wound up getting him the biggest pumpkin ever - for us, anyway! The weekend after that, my parents and I took Ryan to Lombardi Ranch, a perennial fall favorite. Finally, the last weekend in October my parents and I took Ryan to The BooLvd, Lancaster's Halloween fest on The Blvd.

A couple of days before Halloween, we carved pumpkins and roasted pumpkin seeds. On Halloween itself, Ryan and I went to his school's Harvest Fest (I actually volunteered at a booth for an hour) and then went trick or treating with friends.

In non-Halloween happenings, on Oct. 27th my parents and Ryan and I went to the beach (shocking, I know). The following are a few fun photos from the day. Bonus: the first two photos are of antelope (taken by my dad on a separate day), proving there are indeed, antelope in the Antelope Valley. Enjoy!
